Have you ever wanted your family to revere you as a goddess? If so, this recipe could change your life. It takes all of 10 minutes of active time, and is guaranteed to propel you into kitchen-goddess status with the family. This is an excellent choice for people who go to jobs all day. You can put everything in the morning, and come home to a wonderful meal just waiting for you.
All you need is a whole chicken, some potatoes, carrots, celery, onion powder or an onion if you do not have a picky 4-year-old who freaks out at the sight of an onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a crock pot.
Rinse the chicken both inside and out. If you bought one that has the neck and other questionable parts stuffed inside, make sure to remove those. Season the whole bird with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Plop the bird in the crock pot. Chop up some celery, onion, carrots, and potatoes. I like to use the small red potatoes and quarter them. Surround the chicken with the vegetables.
Turn your crock pot on low if you managed to think about dinner at least 8 hours before you’d like to serve it, or on high if you are closer to 4 hours until dinner. Let the crock pot do the rest while you enjoy all the wonderful smells that come out of the kitchen.
The chicken will fall off the bone, and the vegetables will be tender and juicy.
